Scor 4060 Z ST XT Review

As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. The Shimano motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a natural riding feeling and a harmonious power delivery characterises the Shimano EP8. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the 4060 Z ST XT are no problem.

The frame is simply top notch, keeping you in control even on rougher trails full of fast hard hits. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. When it comes to the brakes, Scor reaches for the top shelf and instals premium brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from Shimano. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Scor uses good equipment. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. On the scale, the 4060 Z ST XT makes a good figure with 22,5 kg. Most All Mountains are significantly heavier.
