Corratec E-POWER RS 160 PRO e-Mountainbike Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The Bosch motor climbs steep ramps effortlessly. The very natural riding feeling combines the Bosch Performance Line CX with a dynamic power delivery. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the E-POWER RS 160 PRO with only an average range.

The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. Wide tires provide more grip and comfort. Corratec tends to fit narrow tires with its #reifen_inch_breite Corratec tires. For an All Mountain, we would prefer wider treads. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Corratec uses average parts. When it comes to the geometry, Corratec does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes.
