Merida eBIG SEVEN 300 SE Review

Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by E7000. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Shimano E7000 gives off a digital riding feeling. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

On rough terrain, the eBIG SEVEN 300 SE, with its only average fork, lacks some control. In descending situations, the Shimano brakes require a lot of hand strength or, optionally, courage from the rider. With two pistons and small 18 brake rotors, they only brake poorly. For an EMTB , the Maxxis tires with a width of #reifen_inch_breite inches are relatively narrow. In our opinion, Merida could have put on wider tires. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Merida uses average parts. On winding trails, the playful handling comes to the fore, as the bike masters even the fastest direction changes with the short wheelbase playfully. Small wheels are becoming rare, but with the eBIG SEVEN 300 SE the 27.5 wheels pay off with a playful riding experience. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated.
