Bulls Copperhead EVO 3 XXL 750 27.5” Review

When it comes to classic mountain bikes without a motor, the Copperhead model series is one of the most popular bikes for beginners. And the Copperhead EVO 3 XXL 750 27.5 also wants to live up to this reputation. At an attractive price of 4599 €, they want to convince with a solid bike. They deliberately refrain from technical innovations to not put too much strain on the customer's wallet.
The Performance Line CX Smart System from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. Thanks to the very good range, you should no longer have any range problems even on very long tours.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Copperhead EVO 3 XXL 750 27.5” in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

Good damping qualities are shown through the Bulls mid-range fork. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup with small 180 brake rotors is only average. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Schwalbe tires do not do this EMTB's range of use any justice. In our opinion, Bulls has saved weight in the wrong place here. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. On winding trails, the playful handling comes to the fore, as the bike masters even the fastest direction changes with the short chainstay length playfully. Small wheels are becoming rare, but with the Copperhead EVO 3 XXL 750 27.5 the 27.5 wheels pay off with a playful riding experience. The deep bottom bracket also provides excellent cornering and thus contributes to the good handling. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Bulls Copperhead EVO 3 XXL 750 27.5”

With a middle ground fork and a mediocre brake system, the Copperhead EVO 3 XXL 750 27.5 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to an outstanding motor and a very strong range.
